About The Role

Our client are seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer to provide technical and project leadership to the Turbomachinery process control team.  This is a senior role with National scope.  Based in your choice of Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, your role will include:

  • Define the scope of work along with the sales team during tender phase.
  • Provide consulting support to develop the Functional Design Specification, Details of Design Document with the Lead Engineer.
  • Define control philosophy. Review and contribute to overall configuration and development of control logic.
  • Interface with customers on technical details during project execution.
  • Assist in test procedure development and support pre-FAT test, FAT test and IFAT.
  • Act as customer site support on assigned project and start-up activities
  • Continuous development of internal engineering processes and standards
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Assist Project Manager in identifying the scope change and provide insights in finding additional opportunities.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the assigned technical portion of the project and interfaces with the customer engineering team.
  • Provides complex application and process control engineering support, including hardware engineering and software configuration for all process industry.
  • Assists Sales in preparation of quotations for tendered projects, such as budgetary and firm price engineering estimates.
  • There is expected to be travel up to 1 week in every 5 weeks.

About You

As the successful candidate, we are looking for you to bring the following:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or similar
  • 5-10+ years of experience in industrial/process controls, including Turbo machinery / Rotating equipment and/or Generator controls.
  • Able to execute and coordinate all engineering and design activities for projects independently.
  • Knowledge on AS and petro-chemical/power station industry standards would be advantageous.
